The LaBelle Garden Club meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the Months of September though May, with May being our picnic. The Club meets at the Dallas B. Townsend Agricultural Center in LaBelle at 1085 Pratt Blvd. Labelle, FL 33935. For more information, call President Dave at 863-342-8233 or Nikki at 239-564-2005.
The meetings generally have a speaker talking about a gardening topic, then an adjournment for food and get together. We generally have a table where we have lots of give-away plants brought in by the members. We also have two tables filled with snacks, drinks and deserts. We also always have several master gardeners in attendance who can answer any questions you might have. Newcomers are always welcome. Remember, there is no such thing as a dumb question, especially when it comes to the often tricky topic of gardening in the unique conditions in LaBelle (see “Climate in LaBelle” to the right).
We have a garden library where members can sign out books. The library has 170 books available on all aspects of gardening (list is at the top of this page) and the books can be obtained by contacting David Bogert, the librarian, at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at 863-342-8233. We also have some write-ups on gardening topics attached to this Webpage.
